Pretty Velvet Dec 6 @ The Peacock

The raucously theatrical Pretty Velvet kick off the festive season with a headline show at The Peacock—‘Rock n’ Roll Christmas’. The five-piece Classic Rock band have won Sunderland’s hearts for their fun but stylish singalong rock anthems.

The ‘Desperado El Dorado’ rockers recently attracted a huge crowd at Waves festival and will reward their new fanbase with a Christmas bash upstairs in The Peacock. This time, they’re playing with support from Solstice and Red Remedy.

The band, who recently played The Road to Coast Fest ‘25 in North Shields, had a great response to their latest single ‘A Love Like You (Everybody Talks)’, including being invited to perform a live session on Spark’s Local Music Show.

Snowed in SunLun Dec 11 @ Pop Recs

Making its promotional debut at Pop Recs on December 11 is the ‘Snowed In SunLun’ collective. Promising a showcase of Sunderland’s music scene, the night features four bands of varying genres coming together to fundraise for the local charity ‘Love, Amelia’—warming up the Christmas period with charity, goodwill and great bands!

Joining the lineup are Divine Image, Sunderland’s shoutiest Melodic Hardcore band who are famed for their energetic but precise live shows. Pretty Velvet will also continue with a busy winter schedule, with an appearance on the Snowed In SunLun bill.

The dramatic, brooding Celadore will add their sparkle to the lineup after a jam-packed performance on The Bunker stage at Waves, wowing the crowd with theatrical rock ballads that have been compared to Meatloaf, Bowie, and Evanescence. A late addition to the night is Camel Island, a popular three-piece from South Shields who last year won the Best Single award from Spark Local Music for their track ‘Stalling’.

‘Love, Amelia’ is a local children’s charity, offering support to families experiencing poverty and hardship across Tyne & Wear. Visit: loveamelia.org.uk
