Each month Gan On picks a quiz master from around the city to tease your eyes and tickle your brains. This month’s questions are brought to you by Fiona Duncan, outspoken punk and frontwoman of Slalom D who moonlights through the week as a pub quiz presenter at the Ivy House and Diego’s Joint.
The Ivy House Quiz falls every Wednesday at 8 PM. a very popular quiz, booking in advance through the venue is recommended to secure a table on the night. The quiz is packed with laughs, surprises, and just the right amount of competitive spirit!
Each week features five fun-filled rounds, with 10 questions per round, and the evening wraps up with a thrilling Jackpot Round that rolls over by £50 each week – an eye-watering £1,200 was claimed in January! Weekly prizes include bar vouchers ranging from £10 to £30, but be warned, our sweary quiz mistress has a wicked sense of humor – not for the faint hearted.
Diego’s Joint Quiz is held on the last Thursday of the month at 8 PM and advance booking is recommended. It follows a similar format to The Ivy Quiz but with an impressive projector picture round, ideal for those who squint at the small things. Prizes include rounds of shots, pizza vouchers, and exclusive beer merchandise, it’s a perfect mix of fun and challenge – nothing like being back in a GCSE exam hall. Diego’s Joint is a not-for-profit venue, so your visit supports one of Sunderland’s best-kept beer gaffs.
