Between October 9th and 10th, Anchorfest will be setting sail at The Ship Isis. This two day festival will play host to a varied lineup of bands and artists, to raise money for both the RNLI, and Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen.
The event is being organised by the members of Antiquity, a 4-piece who are Bunker Band Club regulars, who will headline on the Friday night, joined by a secret, as yet to be revealed, co-headliner. Other acts playing earlier in the evening include: Poison Clan Rocks The World, and Big C.
The Saturday lineup is just as strong, with Saviours UK as the headline, alongside Jymmy Pynball and the Stuntmen, Wretch, Palma Louca, Doogle, and Giacobbe Finnigan.

This isn’t the first big charity gig this year that has aimed to raise money for Sunderland Soup Kitchen; during Independent Venue Week, Critch, alongside another incredibly strong lineup, managed to raise over £2000 for the charity, despite it being a rainy February day (read our article about it here). This goes to show the power that our music scene truly has, and the way the community will band together to support a good cause, and Anchorfest is particularly special as it is doubling the fun to support two different charities.
This event has been made possible through funding from The Key, which is a charity empowering young people with the chance to bring their ideas to life, as well as with support from The Bunker. It aims to shine a light on bands and artists of different genres and at different levels of their career, from emerging to established in the local scene.
As well as two days of local music, attendees will also be able to pick up official Anchorfest merch at the venue to show their support and raise more funds, as well as being able to contribute to a donations table over both nights.
Tickets are available now, starting at £10 for one night, and £15 for both.
