Sunderland’s punk scene has a new, fierce voice, and it’s screaming right in your face. Claudia’s debut single “Revolt!” is a gut-punch of politically charged noise, a two-minute and nine-second explosion of riot grrrl fury that demands your full attention. From the moment the track kicks in, it’s clear this is not a polite protest; it’s a counter-protest to fascism, a rallying call against the encroaching far right. The guitars buzz, the bass rumbles and the drums hit, creating a raw and angular wall of sound. The vocals define this track. Frontwoman Ozzy delivers a performance so angry and unhinged, its not quite singing and more like a visceral, full-throated roar as she delivers a blistering critique of past and present societal issues. She spits out every line with a conviction that’s both terrifying and thrilling, turning the song’s central message into an undeniable battle cry. “Revolt!” is short, sharp, and essential—a defiant blast of punk spirit that puts the North East firmly on the map.
