Seizure + Houseproud – Museum Vaults – 23/3

Reviews

By Scott Hays

The museum vaults is packed this afternoon.  Lots of familiar faces that are so key to Sunderland’s evolving music scene.

Seizure

Deliver a hard edged and hip hop set.  Lyrically sharp and relevent.  Deep bass, aggressive drums with a raw vocal.  Seizure push you to the ground and then kick you in the nuts.

Houseproud

The Houseproud boys are on form tonight.  Multiple new songs have made their way into their set tonight and the new material sits alongside the older songs seamlessly.  Walls of sound assault the ears. The dialogue between songs is sharp and entertaining.  Audience participation is high, vocalist Ben abandons his guitar to wander in the crowd enquiring how peoples days have went.  Highlight of the set was the recent single Rescue Dog.  The guitar riff and vocal line get stuck in your head, 1 minute and 47 seconds of in your face post punk rock.
