Isabel Maria has returned with her haunting vocals and poignant lyricism to bless us with Ruin. Ruin follows Isabel’s EP Because I Care and pulls at the heartstrings of anyone who listens. Quite honestly, there has never been a stronger representation of the modern dating world. Isabel’s famous storytelling comes through as highly confessional and vulnerable, showing her own feelings of self-sabotage and cynicism.
Ruin is edgy and secretive and perfectly balances lilting, calming piano with dark, intimate lyrics. To sum up, in a sentence: Morose, melancholic, poetic and your new favourite track.
