Sunderland’s The Fire Station is set to play host to BBC Introducing as part of a rare industry event held in the North East, organised in collaboration between the venue and the BBC.

The all-day event will feature panels, Q&A’s, and performances across different parts of The Fire Station, with a selection of big names in the broadcasting industry to host and take part in the programme.

The lineup for the day was confirmed earlier this month on the BBC Introducing social media, and features conversations with artists, both local and national, as well as industry advice sessions. Presenter of BBC Introducing in the North East, Shakk, will be in attendance leading a conversation with No.1 chart-topping artist James Marriott, as well as presenter Abbie McCarthy leading in a conversation with Katy B.

There are plenty of local names on the bill as well, with Heidi Curtis and Lizzie Esau joining Emily Pilbeam on an artist roundtable, as well as Sunderland’s Tom A. Smith and Katie Anderson speaking on various panels on jobs in the creative arts and building a community as an artist.

There will also be a limited number for slots for attendees to showcase their talent by participating in the Open Mic slot.

The event, from afternoon to evening, will be a fantastic opportunity for local artists and creatives to network and connect with prominent industry figures, and to get advice and feedback which they can apply to their careers in music.

Tickets are £18 and can be purchased here https://www.thefirestation.org.uk/whats-on/bbc-introducing-live-ttyc
