Reef, the band behind the 90s hit Place Your Hands, will be playing their biggest hits alongside new releases in Sunderland, with a performance at local favourite venue, Independent.

The band, who first rose to fame in the early 90s after a string of well-received singles, embarked on a UK tour last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their first album Replenish, which included singles such as Feed Me, and Naked. Their Sunderland show this November 21st will mark their final stop on this year’s Autumn tour, which will have spanned across cities including Sheffield, Northampton, and Edinburgh.

The show promises to be full of high energy to go alongside their singalong hits and crushing riffs, and will be sure to have the venue moving and grooving.

Previous dates on the tour have seen the band supported by bands including Gorilla Riot, and The Virginmarys, and the Sunderland date will see none other than local rockers Red Remedy taking the support slot to get the crowd warmed up.

As well as its proclivity to give local bands and artists a platform for live shows, Independent has also played host to some incredible touring acts, particularly over the last year. Toploader, Red Rum Club, Basht, and Reverend and the Makers (to name a few), have graced the stage at Inde in 2026, with acts including Courtney Hadwin, and the legendary Trevor Horn also set to play shows before the year is up, so Reef is in good company.
